Lesson 1 – Introduction to cycling

Welcome to Cycle Savvy Driving, an online course where ADIs and learner drivers can learn more about driving around cyclists.  The course has been developed by the Bikeability Trust and the Driving Instructors Association for the Department for Transport, with contributions from around 550 individual ADIs and support from the ADINJC, DVSA and MSAGB.  It has been designed to address challenges ADIs and learner drivers face as they encounter increasing numbers of trained and untrained cyclists on the roads.

The course comprises of five lessons and includes CGI and video clips, cycling and driving instructor dialogues, and printable PDFs.  Each lesson should take about twenty minutes to complete, including a recap quiz at the end. You can start and return to the lessons at any time.  Please complete all lessons and the feedback form that will follow within one month of your registration.
